It’s the dawn of a new era: Lewis Hamilton has arrived in Maranello

Almost a year after the unexpected announcement - it was on February 1, 2024 - today, January 20, 2025, Lewis Hamilton made his first official appearance in Maranello.
The symbol of this long-awaited and important moment was captured in front of Enzo Ferrari's house, alongside a Ferrari F40, in a shot that will go down in history.

This union represents the meeting of two legends in Formula 1: Scuderia Ferrari, the most successful team in the history of the sport, and Lewis Hamilton, the most successful driver in F1, alongside Michael Schumacher.

This morning, around 10 AM, with a light drizzle typical of British weather, Lewis Hamilton entered Ferrari's headquarters in Maranello.

The seven-time world champion was welcomed by Team Principal Fred Vasseur and Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna. The first official photos were taken next to his favorite supercar, the Ferrari F40. After capturing this epic moment, Lewis had the chance to see Enzo Ferrari’s historic office and briefly visited Fiorano track's pit, with Vasseur and Vigna by his side.

Later, Hamilton returned to the headquarters, where he met with the management and Piero Ferrari. He then began an
in-depth tour of the many departments to start getting to know his new team.

Throughout this week, Lewis will have the chance to get to know the team better, with technical meetings and briefings, meet Charles Leclerc, who will also be in Maranello, and take part in his first tests on track at Fiorano, scheduled for January 22. The goal is to quickly integrate into this entirely new environment.

On Instagram, the British champion commented on the start of this new chapter in his career with the following words: “There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days. I’ve been lucky enough to have achieved things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.
Today, we start a new era in the history of this iconic team, and I can’t wait to see what story we will write together”.
