In the recent months there have been several countries interested in having a Formula 1 grand prix. Argentina, South Africa and South Korea are some of them. Despite this, Sulayem has said on different occasions that a calendar with more races would make things unstable and very difficult for the FIA. At this moment, with the 24 races that the top category calendar has, the president affirms that everything is at its limit. If it were the case to add more dates everything would collapse.

"It cross a barrier where you need two teams , we cannot count on this currently," Ben Sulayem told Motorsport.com when asked if adding one more race would already be a problem. "Logistically, then I have to have two teams. And it is impossible".
Stefano Domenicali also spoke on the subject. Last year on the F1 Beyond the Grid podcast, he stated that he would like to stick with a 24-race calendar for a while. This would keep the FIA stable for a long time.

"I think 24 is the right number,"said Stefano Domenicali.

On the other hand, the federation is open to listening to proposals made by countries interested in hosting an F1 grand prix, because many current venue contracts are about to end.
