Another milestone, another abandonment: Alonso and his unwavering bad luck

During the Mexican Grand Prix weekend, Fernando Alonso celebrated his 400th race in Formula 1. However, the result was not what he expected. Once again, luck was not on his side on a date that promised to be memorable.

After a difficult weekend in Mexico, the Spanish driver was unable to participate in the first free practice session. In the second session, he also failed to feel comfortable with the car, and on saturday in qualifying he finished in 13th position. The final outcome came on sunday, when he was forced to retire his car due to mechanical problems, preventing him from completing his 400th race. Once again, bad fortune was present, frustrating what should have been a memorable milestone in his career.
But this is not the first time something similar has happened to him. During the celebration of his 200th race in the category, at the Malaysian Grand Prix, the Spanish driver was also forced to abandon the competition. On that occasion, as part of the Ferrari team, he suffered a setback that would mark the beginning of this "curse" that seems to accompany him at key moments in his career.
In celebration of his 300th race, Fernando Alonso also had to abandon. This time, the milestone was commemorated at the Canadian Grand Prix, when he was part of McLaren in his second stage with the team.
Now, in his 400th race during the Mexican Grand Prix, history repeats itself: he was once again forced to retire, this time as an Aston Martin driver. Thus, the streak of bad luck continues to accumulate in moments that should be memorable in your career.
